Where's the online budget?
OK it's now March 1 and still no online budget for Wilkes-Barre. Fiction Day was back on December 9, you remember the day that city council passes whatever fiction dictator Leighton puts in front of them.
But now, after almost 3 months, The budget isn't online. Going to city hall and getting it is a joke. Last year a Firefighter went and asked for a copy, was told it would be ready in a week, and what he got was the total expenditures for the budget. One numerical sum........ on a post it note........ and he had to pay for it.
So here we are starting the third month of the year and it is still not posted. Makes you wonder 'WHY'? My take? Leighton doesn't want anyone seeing his fiction before the primary.
To quote an older post of mine, "Well look at what he has done in the past, in 2009 the city payed $322,000 in overtime because we didn't have enough fire fighters. He didn't hire any. So for 2010 you can expect to pay around $322,000 in overtime. That's common sense. Obviously he lacks that trait, because he budgeted only $125,000. Then complained the FD had gone through that amount in 3 months. We have no reason to believe that the common sense fairy has visited him in the last few months."
And would I point that out? Are you kidding me, of course I would. With this administration pulling games like selling the Old River Road bakery to his campaign contributors for 8 cents on the dollar? Violating contracts so he can give them to a campaign contributor? Remember that cost the city $225,000 (Which if you add the $50,000/ year the city gets from LAG, after 5 years we just broke even!!) And don't forget Leighton believes Constitutional Rights are an inconvenience, costing us $220,000+.
Oh and lets not forget Leighton patting himself on the back for getting $50 million to replace 4 bridges AND FIX SOLOMAN CREEK. The bridges were fixed (costing about $11.2 million) and NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE CREEK. So where's the rest of the $50 million? $38.8 million MIA or never recieved.
There is just TOO much for one post.
