Telecom executive Donald H. Gips raised a big bundle of cash to help finance his friend Barack Obama’s run for the presidency.

Gips, a vice president of Colorado-based Level 3 Communications, delivered more than $500,000 in contributions for the Obama war chest, while two other company executives collected at least $150,000 more.

After the election, Gips was put in charge of hiring in the Obama White House, helping to place loyalists and fundraisers in many key positions. Then, in mid-2009, Obama named him ambassador to South Africa. Meanwhile, Level 3 Communications, in which Gips retained stock, received millions of dollars of government stimulus contracts for broadband projects in six states — though Gips said he had been “completely unaware” that the company had received the contracts.

More than two years after Obama took office vowing to banish “special interests” from his administration, nearly 200 of his biggest donors have landed plum government jobs and advisory posts, won federal contracts worth millions of dollars for their business interests or attended numerous elite White House meetings and social events, an investigation by iWatch News has found.

White House press secretary Jay Carney responds to a report that "loyalists" and top campaign bundlers for President Obama in 2008 were given government jobs.

"People were appointed on the merits," Carney said after several questions about the report.

Carney conceded that donating to Obama's campaign doesn't disqualify you from a job. He then went on to praise the administration's track record of honesty and transparency.

"Our ethical standards are unmatched by any previous administration. Our efforts at transparency are unprecedented. And that's not just me saying it, it is outside groups who have said that," Carney said.

First about Greece

The exchange rate is roughly $1.46 to 1 Euro. So Obama just pledged 116.8 Billion to 146 Billion dollars (over three years) THAT WE DO NOT HAVE!!!! Aren't we facing another government shutdown??! Plus THREE WARS THAT ARE NOT ENDING and an invasion (in everything but name) of illegal immigrants!! But we can't let Greece handle its own problems.

And the Chinese hookers

Why California is broke and Wyoming is not

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail.

A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the Governor.

1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.

7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.

9. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit against the State.

Wyoming:

The Governor of Wyoming is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks his dog.

1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.

2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

Total costs California = $7,304,400
Total costs Wyoming = $0.50

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and Wyoming is not.
